Without hesitation, he adjusts his cufflinks, returns to the table—ice-cool and undeterred—and picks up his hand once more. In the climactic showdown, he faces off against Le Chiffre with a steely gaze. Despite the poisoning and near-death ordeal, Bond holds the winning hand: a straight flush.
