The Flamingo resort is centrally located on the fabulous Las Vegas strip. It is the oldest resort still operating on the strip and the first luxury resort on the strip. It has an interesting past with ties to mobster Bugsy Siegal. The Flamingo resort is not the most luxurious casino resort in Las Vegas. In fact it's only rated a 3 star resort but it is still appealing due to it's on site amenities and it's arguably low room rates compared to other venues. Rooms can be found for as little as $50 a night plus resort fees and taxes. We found the room a bit worn and bare. There is a mini fridge included, shampoo, conditioner and body soap, a wet bar kit, a flat screen TV, safe and an iron. The resort itself offers the Casino, 3 restaurants, the Go Pool, Flamingo Showroom, flamingo habitat, wedding chapel, coffee shops, self checkin, a stop on the monorail and direct access to the Lync Promenade. They are ONE of the only pet welcoming resorts on the strip... AT LEAST WHEN WE WERE SEARCHING in our price range we found them to be the only fit. The most popular aspect of the resort is the GoPool. This is a 21 and over day club pool at the resort. You don't have to be a guest to visit the pool. You must have your ID. Drinks run from $15 to $25. There are free poolside chairs that are first come first serve. There are towels available but we brought our own. We considered using some of the winnings we made for a super luxury day reserving a cabana but after seeing how crammed together they were and kinda dingy they were we were glad we passed. We still had a lot of fun. We thought they were one of the only pet welcoming resorts but thanks to viewers comments we know there's better options now. The resort allows dogs for a daily fee of $50 per dog per night. There are no pet exits so the pups have to walk through the promenade and we had to use the elevator to get to the potty station. The potty station is astro turf, tiny and dirty. We would not recommend bringing the dogs it's not worth the astronomical fees they hit you with. Maybe check out some of the other resorts in the commentsThey also are not allowed out of the crate when you are away from the room no matter how well behaved they are. We noted in our reservation that we were bringing the dogs, upon check in the staff didn't pay any attention to that and we were not given a pet friendly room. There are no pet exits so we had to use the elevator and walk the pups through the promenade to get to the potty station. The potty station is really small, very stinky and not made of natural material. Overall the pet experience was not great and we don't recommend it to other travelers. There you have it! PALMS REOPENS AGAIN- (Latest Update on The Palms since the filming of this video.) April 2022 - Palms has undergone several highs and lows since it opened nearly 20 years ago. The resort, originally developed by the Maloof family, went through financial trouble before Station Casinos agreed to purchase it in 2016. On Dec of 2021, Station Casinos sold the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians for $650 million in cash. With new ownership under San Manuel, Palms will be the first Las Vegas property to be owned and operated by a Native American tribe. (A Native American tribe runs Virgin Hotels Las Vegas' Mohegan Sun Casino, but the resort is owned by Virgin Hotels and partners.) A recent makeover worth more than $600 million allowed San Manuel to leave much of the property's decor untouched, but Kiser Murphey said guests can still expect to find upgrades. A refreshed casino floor will have a new slot and table game layout (think "pods" of slots that allow guests to chat while playing alongside friends as opposed to rows of machines, Kiser Murphey said), as well as new machines. The sportsbook will also be "completely refreshed." Players looking to earn rewards will need to join the property's new rewards program, Club Serrano. The loyalty program is also in place at the Yaamava' resort and casino, another property run by San Manuel roughly 3½ hours away in Highland, California. Many of the intricacies Palms is known for will remain. This includes the property's nine themed suites (the Hardwood suite offers a personal basketball court, and the cinema suite comes with its own 98-inch screen) and an eye-catching piece of contemporary artwork from Damien Hirst at Unknown Bar: a 13-foot-long tiger shark divided into three parts within a steel tank.
